Chase

I've been meaning to write this post for the past um 2 yrs.  So yep, just a little behind.  This is my love and also the thorn in my side. Only half joking. I love this little boy to the heavens and back.  And we tell each other this everyday.  Today it was, Mama I love you when I jump really really high on the trampoline. And then we went back and forth telling each other how much love we have.  He is possibly the sweetest boy. He curls up in my lap on a regular basis and wraps his arms so tightly around my neck and whispers Mama I love you several times a day.

Chase is also a motor mouth.  I don't know if this is how Joel and I were at kids.  BUT we are pretty silent people and the CONSTANT chatter is overwhelming.  He just wants to talk about anything and everything.  There is no rhyme or reason to it.  Just wants to hear his own sweet voice.

Some of the things i don't ever want to forget....

*When Chase was a baby, actually right around Ry's age, he would love it when him and I would swing together.  He would just laugh and hug me so tight. I wish I was able to capture that moment on film.  After I got pregnant those swing trips ended.  Until a couple of weeks ago. When I asked him if he wanted to swing with me.  The same laughter and hug came back ten times over. Again I wish I could capture this on film. This moment captures our love for one another.

*Chase has a duvet. It is meant to cover his quilt. However, he uses it as his "hoop".  Aka his cave were he hides out in on a daily basis.  I use to try and keep it on his bed.  But I finally gave up, pulled it off the quilt and it currently resides wherever Chase pleases.  He can spend all day in his hoop.  And why he calls it his hoop, I have no idea.  But it is his lovey.

*I ask Chase to do me favors here and there.  So now Chase will ask me to do a "favorite" for him.  Yes, the boy does know what favorite means.  But he calls his favors, favorites.  And his favorites typically include putting away stuff.

There is more, but I have to a certain little boy who wants his mama.

Its been a while...

It has been too long since I last updated.  It is amazing how much life changes in a day let alone a year.  2011 was a rough year for me. Which means, unfortunately, a rough year for Joel.  Having two kids through me through a loop.  I don't know if it was the hormonal imbalance, having a baby who did not like to sleep,  going through the horrible twos/threes or just having mommy blues.  Whatever the reason was it took me almost an entire year to get back to "normal".  But I'm back.  Life is good at the moment  and I have two boys that are worth all the hormonal imbalances in the world.  Not to mention a pretty awesome husband.

For Easter  we did volcano eggs.  Chase and I painted the eggs with colored baking soda paste and poured vinegar over the eggs to make them sizzle.  It was fun and Chase had a blast doing it.  Ry just loved the paint brush, while Joel took pictures.

For Easter, we had the easter bunny hide the eggs and leave presents for Chase.  Ry just loved the empty eggs.  To celebrate spring we decided to play farmer and get some chickens.  We have four now.  Chase named one Benny the Beaver and the other Cloudy.  Joel named one Rossco and I named the other Butter Ball.  We shall see how this all goes. Hope everyone had a great spring and easter.

A new blog, being a mom, and life

Sorry for the lack of posts. I swear it should still be March. March, April and now May have flown by. LOTS have happened.

First I'm starting a new blog to celebrate the new family...in other words I want to fit rylen into the blog name too. So the new blog will be found at: b4weforget.blogspot.com

The name is due to the Berman 4. Hence the b4 and well the rest just sounded good. I will try and post on the new blog soon. I won't be posting on this blog site anymore, but I wont be deleting it either. I like to complicate things.

Other Berman news: Joel got a new job! WE are so so so so excited for this. It is a good career move for Joel and it will hopefully be a much better/enjoyable job for Joel. He will be getting home at least an hour earlier. Which Chase will enjoy and hopefully it will allow Joel some much needed man aka golf time.

I have to admit being a mom of two has been much harder than I ever thought. I knew it was going to be hard. But, I didn't realize how emotionally hard it would be. I feel guilty for not giving Chase as much time as I use to. And I feel guilty about not giving Rylen as much time as I gave Chase. And I still don't feel like I know Rylen as well as I knew Chase at this point in his life....which adds to the guilt as well. I still feel like we are in survival mode, so hopefully it will get better in the months to come. Thankfully I have great family and husband support.

So on to the best part of this blog. The pictures!

My boys:
Rylen at two months:

Chase loves anything to do with tools, construction and building. So Joel scored a "little helper" tool set from Lowes and created a work bench for Chase. Side note: Chase's little helper tool set actually has a nicer hammer and tape measure than our household one. The work bench is just a saw horse with some drywall on it. Joel helped Chase put some nails, screws and bolts on it, for Chase to hit and turn. Here is Chase showing me his new building area:

The all powerful hammer! Aka I am THOR pose.

And my beautiful boy!

People keep asking if Rylen looks like Chase. So here is a side by side comparison. I think if you click on the picture it will make it bigger.

They do look a lot similar. Chase is on the right and Rylen is one the left. Chase is 3 months old and Rylen is 1 month old. Amazing how much bigger Rylen looks!

Well that is about it. I will hopefully get a new post sooner than later. I would like to show off the smiles I have been getting from Rylen.
