Chase's first trip to Flag

Joel, Chase and I made our way up to Flagstaff for the weekend. We only stayed Friday night, heading home Saturday afternoon.
It was Arbor day, so the arboretum was having a free day for all its visitors. It was fun, but a bit windy. Below are pics from the trip. They have a ring maze, that Chase will love next year. And the fiber gnome was good luck (so we had to please the Karma Gods).

After Flag, we came home and did some errands. Then Sunday was spent at home, ALL DAY! We planted flowers, our garden, and made granola. I'll try and remember to take pics of the garden.

Chase vs. Rice Cereal

I had been holding out on introducing Chase to solids. But, over the past couple of weeks Chase really began to watch us eat and drink. So we decided it was time to take the plunge. As you can tell, it was a big hit! I was expecting for him to spit it all out. But, instead he ate it right up.

My new addiction

We got Adobe Photoshop. So basically, I'm now able to do scrap booking on my computer. So for the past three days I have not been able to sleep. Because ALL I can think about is the pretty colors, fonts, and all the cool things I can now do. I literally have been dreaming about computer designs and such. Oye!

So to calm this creativity surge, I have "created" a new background and title block. FUN STUFF! We shall see how much longer this program will keep my interest. :)

Things I would like to figure out:

Make my own signature (for this blog)
Make fancy button links
Make my own paper and doo-dads

He is a walkin'

An ex-coworker of mine and his wife gave Chase this walker and a high chair. As you can tell, he really hasn't figure out how to walk. But, he loves to be upright. We are getting a jumper and activity table soon. I think he is going to have a blast.
In other news, he is starting to turn. He isn't doing it consistently but he has flipped from his stomach to his back several times and his back to stomach only once. He has perfected the swimmer, or the lizard on tile (as Joel puts it). Basically he is on his belly and swings his legs and arms...but doesn't really get anywhere. I think in a few months I'm going to be chasing Chase. :)

Joel

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of Chase this week. We have been concentrating on nap time and sleeping in general. So I thought I would start a blast from the past series. I already have several ideas for it and will try and do one weekly. Just for grins. This one is devoted to my husbands hair. As you will see, he once had some. ;)

Slobber, growth spurts and those eyes!

Chase is in a slobbering state for the past month or so. His shirts get soaked daily. And yes, we do have bibs...mom and dad just forget to us them.

As part of his slobbering state, I have decided my boy is part lizard. He tastes everything with his tongue. Including the wind and sun. I tried to get the lizard tongue in all its glory...here are my attempts.
Chase also had his 4 month checkup this week. He is weighing in at 12lbs and 12 oz...almost double his birth weight! Here are two pics showing how much he has grown.
Chase at 2 months. The overalls were at the smallest setting.

Chase at 4 months. Overalls at largest setting and still high waters!
And finally the eyes. I'm not sure what color they are going to be. I think brown, but today they look green!

Spring Training

My parents and Grandma came to visit this past week. They left this morning and I already miss them. We spent the majority of the week in Prescott but headed to Phoenix for a spring training game (Dodger and Rockies) on Thursday. I had wanted to get a picture of Chase at his first game, but forgot. Chase did great at the game. We went on a REALLY hot day, so he was a bit cranky from that. Otherwise I think he enjoyed himself.
